The 4th English Earl of Sandwich was the First Lord of the Admiralty and between sponsoring the voyages of Captain James Cook he found time to put two slices of bread on top of each other and say “Oh wouldn’t this be tastier if I put something between the bread.” At first he tried cardboard, then Comet, then Brillo pads, finally deciding on items of food like cheese and lettuce.”
The results of his experiments can be found on sale at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney, along with cookies, scones, and other yummy delights. If you find yourself wandering around Downtown Disney in the morning, this is a good place for breakfast.
