The original House of Blues opened in 1992 in an old colonial house in Cambridge, Mass. and was the brainchild of Dan Ackroyd, James Belushi, Aerosmith and others. It was intended as a home for southern Cajun and Creole cooking like jambalaya and étouffée and also to celebrate African-American traditions of blues music and folk art. The House of Blues in Downtown Disney has lost none of this restaurant chain’s original mission of providing excellent food and music.

Although the dining area is large the subdued lighting makes for a more intimate atmosphere and the “World Famous Gospel Brunch” is a joyous and uplifting experience. The House of Blues store is also great for those looking for gifts that are a little different.
