OK, so who is Harry Ramsden anyway, and why are his fish & chips famous?
Harry Ramsden opened a wooden hut in Leeds (hence Yorkshire) in 1928 serving fish and chips and three years later opened a "fish and chips palace." So, from this we have to assume that the locals thought his fish & chips were very good.
Harry passed from this earth in 1963, but his fish & chips live on and is now a publicly traded company, serving fish & chips to about 10 million people a year internationally in places such as Saudi Arabia, and yes, Walt Disney World.
Now that the history lesson is over, we must admit that the fish & chips are indeed, quite tasty and having a nice pint of Bass ale isn't too bad either!
Be forewarned that the queue of people can get quite long at lunch and dinner time and that the outdoor seating (the only type available) is extremely limited. If no tables are available, consider sitting on the curb or, taking your meal over to the park square located in the UK. You might even be able to enjoy your pint while listening to the "British Invasion," a Beatles tribute band.
