Now, we're betting that you thought that Polynesian style restaurants disappeared in the 1960's, right? Guess again. Welcome to 'Ohana.
'Ohana means family, and in this case, 'Ohana means lots of food and lots of fun. 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort provides an all you can eat dinner, served with Polynesian flair.
There is one fixed menu and food is served family style. As soon as you sit down, your server will start to bring out the food and plenty of it. Just keep asking and they will keep it coming, which can make 'Ohana a very good value for money.
On top of an abundance of food, 'Ohana can also be lots of fun for kids, with spontaneous hula hoop dancing and contests of pushing coconuts around the dining room with brooms.
Be forewarned. If you enjoy a calm and quiet dining experience, 'Ohana may not be for you. The dining room is very large and the noise level can be very loud. But if you're game for it, you can have a good time.
Another note is for vegetarians. The menu is suited for carnivores, and while the staff will try to accommodate special needs, you may wind up with a plate full of tofu in some sort of sauce. So, temper your expectations, and go for the fun, but not the food.
